The good thing is now Friendster finally decided to make their blog layout more attractive than previously.. Finally after ages and ages of not updating I’m just tempted to try this out simply to see what the new layout looks like.

Anyways the catch here is, it looks darn familiar no? It uses the same themes as wordpress (and maybe Blogdrive as well) and the writing layout is disturbingly familiar as well. Which just goes to say either Friendster and Wordpress are now collaborating or this is just one way to damn Friendster to hell. :P

Sadly now you can’t change the font OR the colours of the font which methinks is a seriously BAD idea. Not that I’m really into that much blogging to care.. just being fussy. You know, just conforming to stereotypical image that women should be fussy creatures. HA!

That aside I wonder if they are trying to use this as a ploy to get us back to using friendster. Dunno if a blog will do the job though. It’s way behind face book in terms of interactivity. Oh well, there may be hope yet I guess. Ya just never know..

So here’s to Friendster’s effort to perk up and erm, I dunno.. maybe rope the oldies back here and create disloyalty to FB? As if that’s gonna happen. haha.. I say change your profile theme first then let’s start talking.

Neways, cheers!

It has been a long, long, long, LOOOONNGGGG mid year for me. Phew. Suffice to say I’m still kicking and despite the horrendous past one month, I’m still surviving. hehe.

It’s times when you’re down and out when you realize how many people truly care for you. And quoting the words of a loved one, "You are a real baby when you’re sick." haha.. yes, I do get extremely hard to handle when I’m down with something. The more it hurts, the harder it is to deal with me. Cranky baby or no, I truly appreciate how much the people around me care and how much they take care of me. So here’s to you peeps! A huge virtual *HUG*. No kisses tho. Saving it for someone special. LOL. Lurve ya guys too!

Anyway, for those who promised but until now have not confirmed, I’ll be off tomorrow for my appointment with my ENT. If all is ok (this is the first time ok is defined hoping for a wound NOT to heal over), I’ll be off to the land of the koalas by Monday. If not then I’ll be around for the darn O Week (gee I’m soooooo excited). I catch up with you guys when I get back. :)

P/S: I LOVE NICI dolls! Argh! I have two new friends for someone and she loves them just as much. :) Welcome to the family, Storm and Hopscotch.

Today is someone’s birthday… Hail Hitler! haha.. sorry, I just had to tease her. :)

happy birthday Qing… Hope this year brings you more joy and good luck, and plenty of happiness too.

moving along, I’ve finally moved office! hurrah! It’s exactly like an aquarium where you can go and gape at the "whale" sitting inside swimming lazily around. haha. I’m too lazy to take a pic of the new office. If you wanna know what it looks like drop by to the Learning Center and you can see for yourself. Do bring cakes, goodies and drinks for the office warming party. :D

only catch is, we gotta whisper cause the entire world can listen in if we talk at our normal rate and pitch. which is really LOUD. no, make that extremely, indefinitely, stupfyingly, you better-stop-now-before-I-go-deaf decible.

oh well, guess we can always pass notes if we have a secrets to share eh? :P

whoah. been some time since i last blogged here. i have just realized how boring friendster blogs are. or blame that on my exposure to blogdrive and blogspot instead. :)

anyway, for those without access to my blog, i’ll be moving office soon. packing my stuff as we speak and getting rid of my 4 years worth of accumulated rubbish in the process. after 2 years of being at G2 222 (I know! I love the number! That’s one thing I regret losing. haha), I finally move to.. er.. a room without a number.

i’m geting my own office, and a new job position. but teaching is still in the works. hoping that the loading reduce as the project progresses. i’ll be working closely with university life to develop the project so that means a new job scope with an old friend but new colleague. we have acknowledged how differently we handle things and had our first disagreement already. la de dah, this should be interesting!

Upcoming programs under the project include the Curtin camp and the set up of a library for one rural school in Miri. In the meantime, we will be having our regular motivational talks in schools and next sem, maybe another Taste of Curtin. Gosh, we have all our activities planned up will 2011. I wish Azlin were here though. No one does a good job motivating people as well as she does. and that’s her true forte. :)

I have ceased to be associated with Pre University. I’m now under the Learning Center. Still teach english tho. ;/ and still doing WRS. Catch is, I love teaching the current group but it’s exhausting handling 3 groups of 062 and 1 group of 061.

I’ve got plenty of interesting characters in class, one of them I shall christen Oman girl. She talks 24/7 and she’s hilarious. You should hear her stories about the middle east. excruciatingly funny I tell you! Should consider putting her in the debate team. hmm, *makes mental note to self* Teaching the media group is interesting and challenging. They are obviously extremely bright, loud and boisterous. Compared to my PETRONAS group who’s equally intelligent but more reserved and respectful. It’s an interesting mix of personality though.. I like what I see so far.

P/S: To the 3 stooges that like to drop by, i’m expected to move by Wednesday so there goes our noisy conversations. trust me, when you guys come over to my new office, the WHOLE building can hear us. trust me. *grins* We should have more trips to Brunei to catch up. haha. oh, and Chen… my office now has 2 chairs so that means you don’t have to complain of being unwelcomed anymore. the only prob is either Qing or Jiun has to stand. haha..

Gosh, I can’t wait for my trip in July. this semester is killing me. Aussieland, here I come! whoeeeyyyyyyy!

Someone asked me why i don’t blog anymore. Hmm, good question. Maybe cause Friendster blogs are a tad boring and I’ve been busy the whole of last year.

So here I am 11 days from new year (not that it makes a difference, really) and the beginning of the year looks to be as busy as last. I have a talk this Wednesday with the gang at Pustaka Miri for the upcoming Yayasan Sarawak Roadshow (wonder if i can request for a discount on my loan since I’m contributing? haha).

Right after that I’m off to KK for the Curtin Open day. Phew.. non stop talking for me next week. I’ll be going with some cool colleagues so I’m hoping the trip will be fun. Will miss Miri though, for obvious reasons.. :)

Anyway, speaking of new year.. everyone is just filled with the spirit of starting on a fresh new slate. And almost everyone i know is having their fill of recapping the past year with much relish… I think I shall just skip this part tho. Last year wasn’t exactly a peach, and there are a LOT of events I just wish didn’t happen and well, when all’s said and done is just impossible anyway. So for what it’s worth, I just hope this year will definitely be so much better than 2007 and I hope my loved ones will be blessed with more good luck, and good things to come.

Cheers!

More claims of UPSR leaks

KUALA LUMPUR: More allegations of leaks in the UPSR examination have surfaced, and probes have been initiated in Kelantan, Negri Sembilan and Selangor.

At least four papers were said to have been “compromised” – Bahasa Malaysia (Composi-tion), Mathematics Paper 2, Science and English.

Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein has ordered a probe while the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate (MES) director Datuk Mohamed Zakaria Mohd Noor also confirmed investigations.

However, Mohamed Zakaria stressed there was no leak.

A teacher in Kota Baru was said to have given “last-minute tuition” for students on Tuesday night for the Science paper.

It was alleged that all that the teacher taught came out in the exams the next morning.

In Seremban, several parents called The Star alleging a leak in the Science paper.

“My son’s teacher received the questions for section B on his mobile phone from someone. How is this possible?” asked one parent.

He said the teacher who initially thought the questions were just another SMS gimmick, shared them with a few students.

“The authorities should take stern action against those responsible for the leak,” he said.

A teacher in Bahau said one parent actually asked her for the answers to the subjective section of the Science paper on Tuesday.

“He had the questions written on a paper and some sketches to go along with it.

“At first, I just dismissed it but was shocked to see the same questions in the Science paper,” said the teacher.

Asked if she had reported the matter to the state education authorities, the teacher said she could not as she did not have proof to support her claim.

“In fact, many of us know that some of the other examination papers such Bahasa Malaysia and Maths have also been leaked. The questions which appeared were similar,” she said.

One parent who also chose to remain anonymous said he received the “tips” for the Science paper from a teacher in Kuala Lumpur and was shocked when all the so-called “tips” appeared in yesterday’s Science paper.

National Parent-Teacher Associations Colla-borative Council president Associate Prof Dr Mohd Ali Hassan said if the allegations were true, it was only fair to the students that they re-sit the examinations.

“This is a very serious issue that needs to be investigated and those involved need to be punished,” he said.

He added that he had not received any official report about the leaks.

——> "Curi"ed from the STAR Online

I only have ONE question. Why on earth would someone even leak questions for the UPSR exam? *bewildered look*

PMR I can accept, SPM, yea makes so much sense.. STPM, hell yeah. University exams, OF COURSE. But absolutely bloody UPSR people??? WHY??? I am honestly, completely, totally bowled over by the "kiasu"ness and idiocy of some people. Astounding! Why don’t they leak kindy exams then? Or Primary One mid terms, finals, etc. Geez.. *scratches head in confusion*

God help the future generations who will rule the country..

Got this meme off a blog. Found it quite interesting, and definately more deep than most trivial memes out there..

Here goes:

I am that baby was so deathly ill you often had to walk alone in the middle of the night with a toddler in tow, just to send me to the hospital on your own..

I am that baby that loved you with all her heart and soul, and always will.

I am that girl that always felt she had to prove something, but no matter how hard she tried, it never seemed enough.

I am that girl that constantly feels there is something missing in her life, but can never understand why.

I am that girl who never wanted to become a teacher because she felt that lawyers were far cooler.. :P

I am the friend who stood by your side, watching over you but never getting involved because I felf you had your own life to live and your choices was entirely yours to make.

I am the friend who was so scared when she heard that you might die, because losing you means losing a part of my family.

I am the girl who felt that she had to protect you from the harsh realities of the world, only to discover that you were already part of the world and I was the sheltered one.

I am the child that lay awake at night wishing that she had someone to talk to because she felt afraid of being alone.

I am the girl with the wild imagination that goes overdrive when she is given a dose of caffeine.

I am the friend who misses the time we used to hand out together till the wee hours of the morning simply because we could.

I am the ex who wished she could have changed things between us, and maybe salvage a lil’ bit of good from our wrecked relationship.

I am the ex that wished to be friends but maybe expected too much from you. Your understanding, your patience but most of all your friendship…

I am the girl who sometimes wishes she could just run away and hide, especially when it gets all too much to bear.

I am the friend who would stay up ages to talk to you, just because I care.

I am the one who loved you unconditionally despite all you throw at me on a regular basis

I am the one who cares for you, even if we lose us.. and still believe that you are my soulmate..

I am the one who despite all odds, choose to remember that if we don’t work out, it’s not because we didn’t try hard enough but because we tried too excessively hard.

I am the one who will continue to believe that even if it ends, deep down I know I have tried my best to love you in every sense of the word, to the best of my abilities, and my love for you is true.

I am the friend who seems to have the answers for everything but can never seem to fix the personal messes in her own life.

I am that girl who lives life the only way she knows how, by doing things the way she thinks is right, and who tries to right the wrongs in her life the only way she feels fit..

For every experience I have gone through, every hurt that twists like a knife, every joy that shines through bleak days, every cloud that marres my existance.. I am and shall always be me, take it or leave it.

My close friend said my entries are too intellectual.

Huh?

*-*

I do admit my posts aren’t exactly interesting nor do they have an inch of drama in them.. but by golly, for once I shall attempt to create a post like no other, so superbly non intellectual it’ll blow your socks off! (but then again, if it doesn’t maybe it’ll just kinda swish by and ruffle them a lil. :P)

Anyways, right now the in thing in my life or the only source of my existence is the ever wonderful, swishbucking, macho with a do or die attitude.. Kurosaki Ichigo!! Yea, yea.. gawp all you want. I don’t like Japanese anime at all but Bleach is this year’s answer to.. well, everything. Totally cool anime about shinigami’s and Hollows and reiyoka, etc etc which I know only some of you will understand. Wanna know what’s so cool about Bleach? Try watching an episode on TV3 at 11. You won’t regret it. Unless of course you are into soppy, dull, unimaginative, dreary SMALLVILLE that is. So yesterday’s news people. Ok, now I sound like a dumb blonde.

But anyways, my attempt creating a post like no other just blew up in my face. What can I say? I’m just a plain Jane, not living life in the fast lane but rather strolling through life taking each day as it comes; one step at a time.. That ok for ya Bob? *wink*

Most of the times it doesn’t. Unfortunately often we torture ourselves with question upon question, overanalyzing things to the point of saturation, until finally our mind just refuses to comply and we collapse in exhaustion…

Most of the times we don’t need an answer for everything in life. At times, life just cannot be defined, neither can we draw a fine line in accordance with our questions. I guess most of the time we seek so hard to define things just so our mind can accept the answers as logical and our hearts settled, content with whatever lil we have to settle for. At other times the answers we receive is just a reaffirmation of what we have been agonizing about for god knows how long, and more often than not, the answers given serves as a wake up call to accept things which we know are true but refuse to accept. Living in denial I say. :)

Most of the time the answers we want is not what we are gonna get. Nor does things happen the way we want them to. What’s imprtant is to realize that whatever the answer, it’s the question that matters most in the first place.

Identify WHY there is a need to ask the question, then find the answers. Chances are, you won’t even need to ask that someone to know what the outcome is…
